His job is to find out information about crimes, deaths anything like that. The inspector made the characters think about what they did, and he also made them feel guilty. You could say they all had a part in it.
ReplyDeleteGood point Habir. They did all have a part in the death! Who is the Inspector?
ReplyDeleteNo harbir he is a fake because they didnt know about him at the police station.
ReplyDeleteno jake becaues they got a call from the police station sayin that an inspector is coming round to ask questions
Deletehe is a private inspector then jake
Deletegood point omario but at first we was a fake. so what was ''inspector goole's' job ?
DeleteHe makes the characters feel resposible.
ReplyDeleteHe seems Mysterious and his name sounds like a spirit "Ghoul" and has morbid interests in death. he is interested in Eva Smiths death and wants to find out who killed her being the town is a seaport town he might be fishing for information about the Death of Eva Smith and that is why he keeps asking alot of mysterious questions. :)
ReplyDeleteHi ms findlater,
ReplyDeleteThe inspector uses information to create an impression of someone who is both an outsider. this makes him appear mysterious and powerful..
hey miss its k-ci
ReplyDeletepersonally i think that the inspectors job is to get all of the information from the past out of the birlings and croft. he allows all of the secrets to come out and gives a chance for the family to talk about the situaion. i think the inspector made everyone think about what they have done and made them feel all guilty.
Good point K-Ci
Deleteyes quite right :DD
DeleteThe inspectors job is to make the family feel guilty and responibly.
ReplyDeletevery good point meg, must admit :).
Deletei think so to
Deleteand why does he do that
Deletebecause he thinks he is going to get information out of them which he does
Deletehe makes people feel scared when he metiond about a young girls death therfore he makes them feel gulity adn responsible about that girl
ReplyDeleteThe inspector his up himself too much he needs to jam and talk like a formal inspector.
ReplyDeletehaha yes jake!
Deletethe inspector makes the birlings feel nervous when he qustions them about eva smith
ReplyDeleteI think the inspector is a fake because noone knew him at the police station, hes very mysterious
ReplyDeletei agree but then who is the fake "inspector" that did come to visit the birlings ?
Deletei dont know am i god?
Deleteofcourse not God is to great to be compared to any human being !

hi ms findlater
ReplyDeleteInspector Goole makes people feel on edge this causes things that they have one their conscience to come up to the surface, revealing things that only they know.
ReplyDeleteI think the inspector is very mysterious as no one knows about him, but he knew about Eva's death before anyone found out.
ReplyDeletei agree with you
Deletewhy thank you megan.
Deleteyour very welcome
DeleteHe seems Mysterious and his name sounds like a spirit "Ghoul" and has morbid interests in death.and he also made them feel guilty. You could say they all had a part in it.
ReplyDeleterachel i dont think that your being fdair about the inspector he was very caring.
ReplyDeleteHe was also very demanding though. That's how me forced things out of the family.
Deletehe wasnt that caring jake, he just wanted someone to put themselve forward! he was really demanding and he knew what he wss doing
Deletei think the inspector was a hoax because they phoned the police department and they have never heard of a 'mr goole'.
ReplyDeleteI do to!
Deleterach, maybe he is a private inspector ;)
DeleteLou, he knew about the death before anyone else!
DeleteThe inspector makes all the characters feel responsible for Eva Smiths death.
ReplyDeletehow does he
Deletedo you have a quote for this
Deletecan you explan that a bit more please jack
DeleteHE DOES because of all the questions that he asked are making them bring out the truth which suggest that, george so ha ha ha, ok.
Delete"with calm authority" he has a storng and calm personality
ReplyDeleteLily Barron
ReplyDeletei think the inspectors job was to make the family know how one little think can lead up to big thing that can change people life
The inspectors job is to investigate the death of eva smith. He tries to make the charaters feel responsible, in order to get more infotmation out of them. The way he presents himself to the others mysterious. Because of how the inspector presents himself, he is able to piece together the information he already knows, and the information that he gets from the other characters in order to work out what happened to Eva Smith.
ReplyDeletebut rob the inspector is a fake
DeleteYes but they didn't know that yet, that may be why he is so mysteruois, but he does know quite a lot about Eva Smith which covers any suspicion to wheather he is a real inspector.
DeleteBirling 'nothing to do with you shelia, run along'
ReplyDeleteshows that mr birling is afraid incase shelia says something suspiciously
yes i agree with you lucy.
Deletei agree with this lucy. sheila is a very unstable character and breaks down quite alot.
Deletewhy thank you rach!
Deleteyes k-ci, she was very weird, she knew something but was hiding it
Deletejake the inspector was a hoaxs so there for i am being fair.
ReplyDelete"no thank you, mr birling. im on duty." this quote shows that the inspector is very serious about his job and he didnt come around for a joke and a gossip.
ReplyDeleteThe inspector is someone that goes to people houses or suspects and ask questions, the inspector is someone that is solid and isnit going to break down. They always stay to there duty.
ReplyDeletenot all of them are real inspectors
Delete'why should you? he's finished with you. he says its one of us now' i think sheila wants to be responsible about the death before she knew it was the girl she helped to get sacked. because she had strong feelings and feels delicate about her
ReplyDeleteBirling 'nothing to do with you shelia, run along'
ReplyDeleteshows that mr birling is afraid incase shelia says something suspiciously
VERY MYSTERIOUS!!
ReplyDeleteno your not rachelinda he was a very fair and caring person
ReplyDeletewho's a caring person
DeleteHow is he caring if he was a hoaxs?
DeleteThe inspector makes all the characters feel responsible for Eva Smiths death and he asks other good questions and he makes everyone uncomfortable. The inspectors job is to investigate the death of eva smith also the inspector gets lots of infotmation out of them
ReplyDeletethe inspector is very minipulative the quote 'so you used the power you had' shows he is
ReplyDeleteInspector- "This afternoon a young women drank some disinfectant, and died, after several hours of agony, tonight in the infirmary". He starts of his investigation by shocking them with a tragic story about a young girl dying. He then uses this as a foundation, to work out why Eva Smith killed herself, and what led up to this.
ReplyDelete'You needn't give me any rope'
ReplyDeletesuggests that he is just stating facts and that the Birlings and Crofts should accept the fact they are responsible.
He doesn't tell them what they have done though, he intimidates the family to get the true out
Deleteget you charlie
DeleteYes, it also suggest that he knows what happened to Eva Smith, and why she killed herslef and what led up to it.
DeleteBut it gets the truth out in the end and The family wouldn't of admitted to being responsible if Inspector Goole didn't intimidate them and put presure on them
DeleteInspector Goole is a myserious ans serious character who keeps everyone on track and not go off subject he also doesn't slip into the other characters emotions A quote that sugests this is,"Lets not bring offence into it shall we?". This shows he does not want to start an arguement and carry on with the investigation of Eva's death. He investigates crimes and deaths around the area as his job. He makes the other characters feel guilty and upset about being involed in Eva's death.
ReplyDeletethe inspector says 'dont worry mrs birling i shall do my duty' this means he is only there to do his duty but later we find out he's not an inspector.this show that mrs birling was worried before.
ReplyDelete(stage directions)"taking charge mastertfully" the way how he use the information he holds and creates strong impression
ReplyDeletevery good quote omario
Deletehi miss i am enjoying this page and im finding it very helpful , reading other peoples opinions is a good idea !
ReplyDelete" be quiet sheila" this shows that mr. birling is in charge and he dont want to make his family look silly.
because he seems to know alot more about her and her death than anyone else. He is the only one whos knows shes dead?
DeleteMaybe the inspector took part in her death as in helped kill her or witnessed it
ReplyDeleteHow can you prove this though meg?
DeleteThe inspector made them all feel responsible because his final speech was 'You all helped to kill her'
ReplyDeleterachel i think your point is fair bbe
ReplyDeleteGOOD.
Deleteroberto do not be silly they wouldnt of done that
ReplyDeleteInspector stays on duty no matter, he never goes of track, even though if the Birling family try to talk about something else. "Don't start on that. I want to get on.(To Eric). From this it tells us that he wants to find out the information by him saying "I want to get on".
ReplyDeletemaybe the inspector knew eva smith like he was her dad or something and like went round to interrogate them?
ReplyDeletethe inspector isnt real
ReplyDelete
